That’s me, star­ing out the window

Thank you for visiting.

My name is Chris and I’m a for­mer sub­ur­ban Toronto kid now liv­ing in Hal­i­fax, Nova Sco­tia. It’s a lovely lit­tle city perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, on Canada’s east coast. You should visit sometime.

I’m a web developer/administrator dur­ing the day. I’ve been known to read books – I’m cur­rently read­ing You Are Not a Gad­get: A Man­i­festo by Jaron Lanier – and lis­ten to music. I try to run every now and then.

Pho­tographs

For those who are inter­ested, all my pho­tographs are recorded on film. The black and white film is devel­oped and printed at home in my makeshift dark­room full of used equip­ment. The colour film is taken to a local lab to be processed. For the web, I scan the neg­a­tives. For the wall, I make wet chem­istry silver-gelatin prints.

Pho­to­graphic prints are gen­er­ally avail­able for pur­chase. Pur­chas­ing inquiries can be emailed to me.

You prob­a­bly won’t believe this, but areaeleven has been a web­site since 1993. Cur­rently it runs a cus­tom theme on Word­press and hosted by Media Temple.

I also use Type­Kit to fid­dle with the fonts. I’m using Le Monde Jour­nal STD at the moment, it’s oh sooo lovely.
